    Fishing wires

I am looking to fish a wire from the front compartment out through the openings beside or above the pin box. Has anyone done so is it doable? Is the space large enough to pass a BNC connector? Thanks ahead of time for any insight.

That’s how emergency brake wire comes in and how mine was fished in to the hydraulic brake controller

Do you think there is enough room to trace a 1/2" diameter round connector through or just the wire?

I don't know, but curious about what you're planning! Using a trailer-mounted antenna from your truck? Cell phone booster maybe?

Scanner antenna with a magnetic mount. Scanner will be mounted in the front compartment, but connects to our RV network wirelessly so as to remotely control and monitor with an AtomPC with Win10 on the Furrion TV. Scanner will be used to monitor weather and emergency/disaster frequencies while we are away from home.

Probably, try using a stick to push through some close line or something, if works use it to pull your cable.

I think there is enough room. I ran new brake wire from the pin box all the way back. I used fish tape and went from the pin box to the front compartment and then pulled the wire back towards the pin box if I recall. I do remember I had to remove some of the screws on the underside of the front of the camper (directly behind the pin box area where the overhang is). It was a pain in the butt, but it is do-able and I dont see why a 1/2" cable couldn't fit, you might have a little trouble near the pin box depending where you want it to come out.

Same experience for me as others. Fished wires through there when I installed my disc brakes. I do recall there being some insulation in there as a very small piece or 2 of the pink stuff came out when I pushed my fish tape through and pulled the wires. Not a difficult thing to do. Might consider removing a few of the screws in the fiberglass holding it to the underside of the frame.

I had to fish cable and connectors for my Ford TPMS/Trailer Camera. I backed the screws out of the exterior fiberglass and pushed a piece of 1 1/2" aluminum flat bar through there. Twisted it to vertical and it created a pocket tall enough to pull relatively large connectors from the pin box to the storage compartment.

Brilliant method, that should work perfectly for my needs.
