We used ours all the time, no issue with the plastic roller under the turntable. We now have a residential regular microwave though. That High Pointe piece of junk died 3 times, it was replaced twice under warranty, third time I was done with it. The residential convection oven reviews didnt wow me enough to spend what they want for one so I went with a regular microwave and now we use the oven with a thick steel griddle over the burner to even out the heat.

It is a heat resistant material. And the feet on the steel rack are silicon so no problem there either.

Just checked and the plastic piece below the glass turntable has no signs of melting or even any warping. They must use something other than plastic. Possibly the same stuff as my rubber muffin "tins".

I like the idea of the convection oven, but I do not like all the fumes from cooking in the 5'er. GD did not install an external vent. Shame on them.

Some rigs had an exterior vent.

I find, using the vent on the stove it vents over my head back into the rig, but the big vent for the rig is right above me, so I also turn that on.

    Ya
    I know.
Our 2016 Momentum had the exterior vent.
I'm thinking our Solitude will get a vent someday soon.

The new Solitude 390RK on display at the National rally last week (Don Clark was using another one just down from us) had an exterior vent. Not certain if all 2020 Solitude models have them also but suspect the value of the exterior vent has been heard loud and clear from owners and returned to production.

My 350M has the external vent and it works great. It will also automatically turn on after the convection oven has been running for a while. I have the big Maxx Air fan above the stove/microwave also but rarely use that when cooking inside.

That's the way it should be.

Maybe I should hit up Grand Design and ask them to put my vent in for free, like it should be. KEN
