HW 26 from Seaside, Oregon to HW 84

Good morning

We are debating which route to take back home to Wenatchee, Wa. on Monday. Does anyone know how HW 26 is for traveling to get to HW 84? I know it will be congested as we get to Portland but are there any other concerns?

My other alternative is to take Oregon HW30 to I-5 North and somehow bypassing downtown Astoria which I haven’t found yet

Plenty of large trucks, including logging trucks, take 101 to 26 to 84. You sound like you are prepared for the congestion in the PDX area, so you should be all set. When I moved out of that area it was bad until about 09:00/09:30 then started getting bad again around 15:00/15:30.
