Want to install Maxxair Maxx Fan. Want to confirm sealants
I will be installing a Maxxair fan. I am pretty sure I need Alpha Systems Super Flex self leveling sealant to cover the screws and edge of flange. Most youtube videos show them using a butyl tape between the flange and the roof. This one is by Dicor. Should I be using something from Alpha Systems?

Have been considering this upgrade for over a year. Although this past year we seem to have been very lucky with our trips, either full on AC or just windows and vents open for airflow. Weather was such most cooking was done outside.
Neighbour had a 24’ FR Surveyor and he did a Vortex II fan upgrade. He has been very happy with it, it is the three speed reversible unit. Would like to hear how your upgrade went.Judy & Larry

Yes, I saw that one. That and the owners manual tells me the Alpha Systems Super Flex is the correct sealant. I was wondering if people used the butyl tape like so many show on youtube.

I saw those after I had already ordered the Maxx Fan. I may try one in the other powered vents. I would be interested in comparing noise levels between the two. The thing I like about the Maxx Fan is that it can be used during the rain without any special hood and the lid opens automatically. Still, I could buy almost 6 Vortex's for the price of one Maxx Fan Deluxe.
