Hardwire surge protector to a/my 2150RB?
I wish to have surge protection on my GD. Has anyone hard wired a 30amp protector to your 2150 RB? My brother is an electrician and will be mounting/installing my surge unit. I just wish to get any input from you all?
Thanks TommLakeland FL.

The seemingly most popular surge protector with EMS is a hard wired Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C.

For $230, It not only protects from surges, it protects from many other electrical anomalies. Plus it gives you a digital display that will show voltage and amperage being used.
I installed the 50 amp version in my Reflection 337RLS and I’m very happy with it.Last edited by Jerryr; 08-11-2019 at 02:55 PM.

If you can afford it, go with a full EMS (Electrical Management System). Much more than a surge suppressor, it will protect against low voltage, which can be a major killer in today’s trailer electronics. One low voltage problem repair bill can more than pay for the EMS. As Karl Malden used to say, about that credit card, “Don’t leave home without it.” (Who the heck was Karl Malden?)

Thanks, agree with EMS product. Wandering where to mount the hardware? Where is it convenient to pick up the 110v power inside the 2150RB trailer?

You can mount it anywhere between the point your 30-Amp cord enters the rig and your transfer switch if so equipped. In my Solitude 310 GK I mounted it pretty close to the transfer switch. Well worth installing one. I installed ours, the 50-Amp flavor 1 week after purchase. A week later at the park we were staying in the EMS had indicated a previous error code that voltage was too high. Then a couple weeks later the voltage dropped below the EMS threshold and finally a month later, another power surge, due to a scorpion getting into the electrical post. In all these cases the EMS shut power to the rig and then restored it when the problem was solved. I believe it paid for itself within the first two months of ownership.

I just purchased a 2670MK and am also considering installing the 50 amp EMS system and plan to do it myself. Any learnings regarding installation would be appreciated.

Thinking about installing an EMS in my 2150RB. Did you get yours installed. Where did you install the device, and where did you install the monitor?
