Look what followed US home today, finally.

We took the trailer we traded our boat for to the dealer today and picked up our 2450RL. I was a little nervous picking up the 2013 Shasta not sure if the WD hitch was set up right or not. The trailer pulled perfect and the 2019 F150 with the 2.7 pulled it with no problem. The 2013 was over 700lbs tongue weight but the truck sat level and I got great fuel economy. Pulled it an hour through the city of Orillia to Lazyacres in Sebring. They set up the hitch to the trailer perfect for us. Even put the sway bar on but advised us to use the F150 sway control and not the WD hitch sway control. He said the vehicles that have anti sway control do a far better job than the aftermarket mechanical ones do. The trip back was great and adjusting the brake controller was a breeze on the fly. Our fuel economy if you can say that while pulling a trailer overall was 11.4 mpg 20.6 L/100km over a 3hr 37 min. The transmission heat was exactly the same with or without pulling the trailer a huge plus for us. The trip through Orillia has many stop lights and the truck idled a lot going over everything including adjusting the observation camera at the dealer. I would not doubt I could get 12 or 13 mpg on a trip. I would be tickled to get that and 25mpg when not pulling a trailer. We shall see soon.
When we were going over the unit the technician told me the wheel bearings are sealed give them 1 shot of grease a year. He said the bearing should be repacked after 4000 miles I thought that was low mileage but it could be because it is new.
Now we just need a shake down trip.

Thanks to everyone that helped with ideas and suggestions over the past 6 months. I'm sure I will have a lot more to ask over the next few years.

Congrats. I'm not sure about what the technician said about the bearings. There hasn't been any discussion on our trailers coming with sealed bearings, maybe he made a mistake since the bearings have a seal on the back side of them. If you do a search on the forum there is lots of discussion on bearings, the common theme of dont use the ez lube fittings and hand packing is better, either annually or every 12k miles. Good luck on your shakedown trip!
