If not already reserved at Big Bend, check out lajitasgolfresort.com, Maverick Ranch RV Resort, west of the park. Also do the scenic drive west of there on 170.

The more popular parks were full during the week. Texas State Parks went to "site specific" reservations this year.

I'm not sure if there is a Friday night truck race in the spring of 2020 or not. Last year there was, year before not. The Xfinity race is normally Saturday afternoon with the cup race on Sunday afternoon. Most of the time the cup race has a pre race concert. They generally alternate years between rock and country. If you stay in a track campground, make sure you have a generator as most of the spots do not have hook ups. The weather can be cold, hot or perfect. We camp about a mile from the track in a small campground owned by an individual with full hook ups.
Bradnailer, looking for a campground for TMS>what would you suggest, never stayed in that area, with full hook ups.
    thanks,,,Brian

Hey Brian, We stay at a private campground one mile from the track. After the cup race, it takes about a half hour to get back to the RV. Or if you are hearty, you can just walk. That takes about 20 minutes. We normally drive because we carry small coolers in. It has full hook ups but only 30 amp service. Not an issue though as the temps that time of year don't normally require running the A/C. The gentleman that owns the land is Charlie Bellinghausen. His contact number is 817 727 2444. You can call him early March and visit with him about a space. I will tell him you are interested when we are there for the November races. It would be cool to meet you all. Take care!
