    2nd AC Question

Hola Grand Design Owners...Quick question. I've read in several places that the rear AC on my 2019 297RSTS TT is a 13.5K BTU unit. However, from the GD website, it appears to be a 15K unit. Can anyone confirm either way? (my owner docs are in the rig that is currently in storage).

    Thanks in advance, Oz

GD website says 15k , optional 15k for the front.

If you feel comfortable doing so - pull the top cover and there is a placard on the unit that shows the size.

You might actually be able to see the data sticker through the openings without taking the cover off. I know I could. I believe it was on the street side.
That being said, I am impressed at how well mine cools with one 13.5k unit. Even on the hot 100+ heat index days we had in the sun. Unit kept up fine once it got cooled down initially.

That's what I see too...while perusing other forums, other owners have said (not to me, and not here) 13.5K...

I tried that a few weeks back...both units had the same numbers on the metal covers behind the louvers of the plastic shroud...but they weren't model #'s. It was 97 degrees that day so I didn't stay up there too long to snoop further. I'll pull a cover when it cools off a little (when I install the Easy Starts).

Our rear a/c is 15k and we added a 13.5k up front and really does the job! We have a 2018 297RSTS. Didn’t take long for us to figure out we needed the second unit! First hot day was 98 degrees and with one a/c only could maintain around 80-85 degrees. That’s how i found that we had a rear 15k i checked the data plate because we thought maybe unit was to small to keep up! Would recommend adding second. We did ourselves! Good luck!!!!

Agree with all of the others that the rear AC on the 297RSTS is 15K.
