Mid-Size SUV and Imagine XLS
I have a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL (3.5L, CVT transmission with factory tranny cooler) with a towing capacity of 6000lbs and hitch weight capacity of 600lbs. We are really interested in the Imagine XLS 21BHE - fits our family perfectly and seems to be within weights. The plan would be to use a weight distribution hitch with sway control. One dealer I was talking to doesn't recommend towing a box trailer with a mid-sixed SUV though citing aerodynamics and drag and implications on the CVT and sway. The CVTs have been updated a number of times since they had issues, so not sure that should be a concern anymore. Just wondering if others tow any of the Grand Design products with their mid size SUV or if I should avoid this style of trailer given the tow vehicle.
Thanks for your input!

Look at your driver door post and let us know what Payload Weught on the yellow “Tire and loading sticker” payload weight is listed as. Payload is the weight listed as “The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed”.

That is 1149lbs. That would just be for inside the vehicle, correct (e.g. passengers, cargo, hitch weight)?

We've pulled travel trailers with a full sized Bronco and with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both trailers were about 25' long. There were times when we felt like the tail wagging the dog but for the most part, with a good weight distributing hitch, they towed just fine. Only problem we ever had with the Jeep was it being slightly underpowered on long hills.
