Cody to 90 east which route?
Currently in Cody and headed to Mt Rushmore looks like going 14 vs 16 looks like a high pass on each route, ideas appreciated

14 is a pretty drive it is steep but no problems with a diesel. Once at the top you will pass a few campgrounds. Prune creek is nice you can camp by a creek. Sibley Lake campground has electric hookups. Burgess Junction Has a dump and water station also diesel is available at Bear Lodge Resort.

I STRONGLY advise you not to try 14 and 14a from Greybull to Sheridan. And NOT 14 & 14a from Cody to Sheridan. here is why....
We did 14 and 14a in the truck and would not want to do it towing.
We crossed over on 16 between Worland and Buffalo a few weeks ago. No problems. The usual ups and downs but nothing strenuous. The Western Mountain Directory explains the Power Pass drive over the Big Horns on 16. It reads a lot worse than I think it is. Pretty drive.
We've haven't been down to Worland from Cody on US14, WY30, US20 but I don't see anything wrong with it.Larry KE4DMG

I took 14 once with the old TT. I had a 7.3 Excursion at the time. I did have to stop a couple of times to let the transmission cool down. That's one of only two roads I ever had to do that on in 50k I towed with it.
Do you consume anything on long...
