You are completely right. But, really, anytime you purchase anything sight unseen, you’re taking a risk. The mat turned out to be a positive. Amazon is convenient, but they do engage in questionable practices. The “subscription” services and ridiculous “pantry” scheme are obvious money grabs. On the positive side, we’ve never been refused when returning items. It’s especially easy for us, as Bruce ships equipment regularly for work. As far as reviews on Amazon, I typically check elsewhere before ordering as over half the so-called reviews aren’t even for the item listed. That said, I wish someone would give them some healthy competition!

Have used the camco mats for almost 10 years now. Have not had any issues other than what is noted here- sweep them off, hose em down and clean them well before the season and after the season. We have 3 large mats and a smaller 5 x 7. Have a large malamute that loves to lay out, these help keep her a bit cleaner...

We have a couple of the Camco mats that have held up well for the last year. Our Camco mats are made in China. Like others we just sweep them off and wash in our driveway only when we have the time. They have the loops and come with bags. A little while ago we needed another mat for the inside of our screened gazebo so bought this one. It's bound all around but no loops or bag. Made in India. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IWX8U30/

Have you found a good quality mat? I need one about 7' to 8' wide by 12 to 16' long.

    Thanks!

We picked up a CGear mat and it works awesome for the sand and dry desert dirt. We previously had an outdoor carpet type mat and that thing was so hard to keep clean. With the CGear, it has a built in filtration system that pushes the sand through - even when your fur babies are wrestling on it. We liked it so much after our first two trips, the wife ordered a second mat for our garage entrance. It’s priced competitively on Amazon compared to some of the Camco RV mats and is very light - fold compactly for easy storage.

If you're not overly picky about pattern you can find some mats a pet supply stores that cater to dog show people. We have found some nice 12 to 14 ft mats for around $45 at a local independent pet supply store... we just replaced an 8 yr old mat, the mat wasn't horrible but the edge on one side was getting quite worn. The brand was "Snowbird"
