Hmm. I didn't save the cotter pins, and I'm showing some fabric-fray on the left side of the Solara topper that I just installed a month ago. Fleet Farm in the Midwest has a lot of pins in their hardware section. Wonder if a farm-store might be a good place to look for replacement pins. . .

Pretty sure you can use a regular cotter pin. Im pretty sure you can find something in the farm store that will work.

On my previous trailer I uses a screw driver that was the correct size. Worked like a charm.

I had the same thing happen with the Solera. Dealer is so far away, i decided to fix myself. I glued the seam back together with Gorilla glue super glue. Worked perfectly. The fabric had to come of anyway.

This is good to know. How long has it lasted? I was thinking that if this happened to me I would take it to a tailor or a seamstress and have them run it through the sewing machine to reinforce it.

It has been about 6 months. I keep an eye on it and the others of course. Looks fine. I also thought about taking it to canvas shop. Just didn't do that. Another failure and i probably will. I could not believe this stiff. Couldn't pull the seam apart after gluing. Glued in sections and clamped down.

Replacement fabric delivered today. It's not a 50ft roll like instructions say, it is the exact fit. Which is fine, better that way anyways.

Nice to know that Gorilla glue will work.

Hopefully will get it installed this weekend.

Kudo's to Lippert for taking care of it quickly and no hassle.

Replacement fabric installed, and slide topper back in business. Instructions were great. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy.

Hi Mike. It's been awhile since you posted on your slide topper awning replacement, but I was wondering (hoping) you still have the installation instructions. My awning on the kitchen slide came apart on our recent tripe - looks like the threads dry rotted around the plastic tubing that slides into the track on the side of the camper.

I'm going to call Carefree and order new material unless you may have a different suggestion. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Tim

I found the link for the instructions on the lippert site

    https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws...cd-0001265.pdf

I have to replace another one myself. After nearly 4 years, the living room slide topper separated, probably dry rot.

Ordering a roll so I can probably replace all of mine, since there are holes on the others.
