Going full time the first of 2020

    Hello all
Tired of putting out fires so retiring end of the year. Going full time. Will have lots of questions.
1st off. What's going on in this big, great country in January and which direction do I go.
2nd. How far ahead do I need to look for a place to stay.
    2 of 10,000 questions

May we all travel with a tail wind
    Thanks
    Otto

Welcome to the life. January, cold, not cold. Not cold is by far more popular therefore there are fewer places available. But there is still plenty out there if you are flexible and don't need/want to go to a specific place. We tend to winter at ski resorts, kind of a different idea....

Popularity dictates lead time. It's the old supply and demand thing. You want 3 months in Lakeland, FL you better start booking last March, you will find plenty of openings in Bismark.

The really fun and exciting part is you are not constrained by other responsibilities, you can look at a map and say maybe I want to go here, or there. Then you look at the resources available, you make a phone call, book a site, but checking to make sure if you change your mind it doesn't cost you too much.

PS, I love that poem "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields"

Congratulations GoN4it, we are doing the same thing. We sold our 303RLS and pulled the trigger on a new Solitude S Class 2930RL. Probably looking at hitting the road in April or May next year. Good and Happy Trails.

I heartily reccommend that you make reservations as far in advance as you can. Some parks are a full year out on reservations and all are busy during the "season".

    Everybody's talking at me
    I don't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind

    People stopping, staring
    I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
    Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes

Banking off of the northeast winds
    Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone

I'm going where the sun keeps shining
    Through the pouring rain
Going where the weather suits my clothes

Banking off of the northeast winds
    Sailing on a summer breeze
And skipping over the ocean like a stone

    Everybody's talking at me
    Can't hear a word they're saying
Only the echoes of my mind

I won't let you leave my love behind
No, I won't let you leave
I won't let you leave my love behind

Lyrics by Fred Neil, recorded by Harry Nilsson, 1969.

Nice one,, we are doing the same thing, after talking about it for many years we took the plunge, wife is still working, so we will travel to where she works, fortunately she is mobile with her projects so not stuck in one place too long, then when she's had enough we hit the map.

Bought a GD 380FL, can't wait to get it in Nov,
