Do you ever run your generator while its under the tonneau cover? Like when its raining or bad weather? Thanks

Maybe the fold up hard cover is better suited for this if I have items in the bed behind the cab. Would like to hear from others who have felt with this issue.
I have the Retrax and love it!

No, I haven’t. I hadn’t thought about it, but I would think that as long as the exhaust was pointed out and there is some room for air flow around the generator, you could.

I just received the Auto Anything brand of cover that I previously mentioned.....I'm gonna send it back. It's only a 3 panel and it appears I will have to have it folded up all the way to get hitch clearance. So.....l would look for a 4 panel if you go this route. I called BAK and the MX4 model is a 4 panel and will allow you to have 3 panels folded back and have clearance for the hitch and still have a little protection for stuff in the bed.

Installed the Retrax Pro MX onto my truck last week. After watching multiple YouTube videos the process was very, very easy. I only needed help lifting the assembled unit onto the truck.

It will get its first towing test starting this weekend. I selected this because my brother-in-law has had one for about 4 years and still recommends it.

    Best regards,
    Chris

I have the hardtop roll up Truck Covers USA out of San Diego, Ca. And really like it. They are not cheap, but hold up really well. And I have run my generator with the bed cover closed, but tailgate down.

I'm leaning towards the BakFlip F1 and here's why:
    - More dent resistance as compared to the MX4
    - Very similar price as compared to the MX4
    - Same latching system as MX4 (tailgate can close w/ last panel up or down)
    - Allows use of the full length of the bed if/when I need it; Hence the retractable is less preferred
    - Partially opens to protect stuff up front while pulling 5th wheel; Hence the roll-up is less preferred
    - No rails that protrude above the truck sides to maximize the truck bed to 5th wheel clearance

Please let me know if I missed anything. Thanks!
