Thanks for all your suggestions! After raising the hitch in the truck I'm happy to say we now have about 7 inches of clearance and the FW is riding level.

You have either been lucky and/or stayed on nice flat roads. Take it into a campground with dips and valley and you can easily hit with only 5".

Years ago when my truck was new, we had a ridiculous dip at the end of our driveway... After adjusting the hitch & pin box the bed and 5th wheel still made contact... I added a bump stop to the hitch that slightly limited the degree of travel the hitch allowed... I would do this only after a careful examination of the hitch for pros & cons... not an ideal solution for sure, but it worked.....

When people refer to the 7” clearance, is that measured even with the hitch (middle of the bed) or in the back?. I just bought a Momentum with Goosebox and I have 7” in the front and 5.5” in the back.

We were in that situation once and the truck and the RV touched each other on the way in to the campsite. On the way out DW put a thick towel at the corner of the truck and it helped allot.

To me its the back dimension I worry about. The end of the truck bed moves the most. You probably towing nose high - keep an eve on tire wear, especially the rear tires on the trailer.

They are talking minimum clearance, front to back on both sides.
