    Generator Question

We bought a Champion 3500 starting Watt Dual Fuel Inverter generator today. The problem is that the Progressive Industries EMS system built into my Reflection 337rls gives me an E-2 error (no earth ground) and won't allow the coach to see the power. 3rd day of boon docking and my two batteries are running out of juice. I guess I need to get an earth ground spike tomorrow. What do you do to prevent this problem? Not sure we can always pound an earth spike in the ground in places like a Wal-Mart parking lot. Any ideas, please?

I’ve seen several threads on this topic, and recall someone posted a fix, suggest doing a search with keywords like ground and EMS.

Resistance is Not Futile, It's Voltage Divided by Current.

We have the 3400 champion dual fuel inverter generator as well. And we had the same problem. We googled it. Great information. You can buy the small adapter at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Just plugs in the front of the generator. It started right away with the adapter! We love our generator. Runs the air conditioner with no problems.

Thank you all. I saw the video on how to make my own plug. So off to Lowe's I go in the AM. Tonight with almost no battery left will be like a "tenting" night inside the RV.

If your Champion generator is a inverter type you can flip the switch at the EMS monitor to bypass EMS and it will then recognize your generator. We use this option with our rig with no problems. Good luck and Happy Trails.

You could have put the EMS on bypass until you made a bonding plug

Agreed with the bypass mode. I just made an Edison plug for my Predator 3500 watt generator. It's plugged into one of the 120volt 15 amp recepticles. Works perfect. E-0. Best art was everything I needed was in my work bench in the basement of my home. Come to think of it my progressive EMS has reported many electrical pedastal issues. Good luck.
