    Momentum axles

Did I mis-read or are they now putting 3 axles on Momentums? We've got a 2015 380TH and now I'm wondering if I need to worry. Only having 2 axles was always something I challenged but they convinced me the 2 8,000lb axles were more than sufficient.

The latest spec sheet on the GD website shows 3 7000 lb axels. I don't think you have to worry. Check out this thread. Lots of conversation about the subject.

I spoke with a dealer today and they said the 3 axle stated in the brochure was a typo error. They claim they spoke with GD and it is staying a double axle

2 axle is one major reason I bought the 385. I prefer not to tow 3 axle anymore. Did the math on weights and axles and I am very comfortable with it. I guess everyone is so use to 3 axle it is hard to change. But to me when I did the math it is good and that is the best way to figure it it, not by mind set perceptions. This is for me. Everyone has there thoughts and cushion of peace of mind.

Thanks for the responses. I was previously comfortable and have done the math. Just got nervous that if this was a running update as GD makes, then maybe an issue had arisen. We've put almost 5,000 miles on our 380 since we picked it up in July, and have had no control or towing issues. I'll quit worrying and get back to full timing and enjoying the Gulf Coast!

I have a 380 on order and was told they are switching to 3 axels and its because its cheaper to put on 3 7,000 then 2 8,000 axles. Mine is built, last i heard awaiting PDI and delivery.

arhayes, what are you hauling in the back? the reason I am asking is because I only carry 4 wheels, sold the bike and thinking of putting a track system down on the floor and wanted to know if you have any difficulties getting between two rides to strap down. If you carry 2 back there. I have a little trouble getting in between them cause of close quarters back there. But it could just be me getting older. Hoodie

Your dealer is wrong......he evidently did NOT talk to Grand Design.

I talked to the Momentum division head, and they are tri-axles on the larger ones now.

Good deal, I had a 08 GW I bought new, after selling my Street Glide . I loved the ride and wife loved it as well, wife would fall asleep on it on long trips. We moved to Arkansas and only wife and myself could enjoy the bike so sold it for 4 wheels since young ones wanted to ride and we could enjoy as a family. found a lot of places to ride. Safe rides, Hoodie
