    Water Filter?

    Hey guys

Looking to purchase a new Imagine 2800BH and in all my research I have not come across that these trailers have a water filter.

Do the Imagine Trailers come with a water filter or do you need to install one yourself? Every other trailer I have owned (6 in total) have all come with a water filter system of one kind or another.

Hi and welcome. Sadly, no, no on board filter. Most folks install them in the storage area and if you do a search, most have described how to and have included pictures. We just added a small, whole house unit onto the pressure regulator at the spigot (source). We use 5 micron filters in it. We chose to put it at the source because sometimes o-rings or gaskets go missing and you don’t notice. You turn on the water and get sprayed. Better at the spigot than in your storage area. In the two years we’ve been doing this, no one has ever bothered it.

I use a whole-house filter after the pressure regulator. And I put a charcoal element in to improve the taste of the water.

We, too, carry/buy bottled water for consumption. But we first installed the filter mainly to keep particulates and rust out of the trailer’s water lines and water heater. It only took our first ever outing in it to send us shopping for the filter. When we broke down to go home, the gasket/screen was clogged with grit.

We like the whole house filter (vs the slim inline) because it makes adding bleach in the filter housing to sanitize the whole water system, oh so easy.
