TCM, baby! I love old westerns and film noir.
I subscribe to the paper because I like the local news section and I do the crosswords. The rest of the news is enough to make one want to just curl up into a ball. Doesn't matter if you get it from the paper a day late, TV or internet.

I used to read the San Antonio paper until they flooded the paper with political ideas that were contrary to mine. Cancelled it.

One of the best things about camping to me is over the air Westerns on TV. Gunsmoke, Bounty Hunter, High Chapparal, Rifleman all add up to actually wanting a rainy day or two while hanging out.

Sometimes I drive my wife nuts with my Rockford Files collection, for camping only. There's usually a doublecross, a kiss, a car chase, one or two shots fired, a fistfight and then Rocky parks in Jim's spot at the trailer. Good stuff!

Hoping the Disney+ streaming will offer old Disney programs. Stuff we may have grown up with.
Jay Silverheels was the scariest Indian Chief in Hollywood. Had us kids frightened. Disney used him in several westerns. Some scenes in Davy Crockett so brutal by today’s standards they've been cut I read.

We’re out in the RV camping now. 23F outside along this stretch of the Owens River so we stayed in and streamed Netflix last night.
We like non-political documentaries. Some good ones on there.

I was able to pick up a copy of the local newspaper yesterday that reported a fire some distance off. It has the potential to reach some destinations we wanted to OHV too so maybe a stay in camp day today. Nurse wife worked a brutal stretch of all nighters before we left so she’ll sleep all day today.

Our 398m is the first of many RVs we’ve owned where the heating is well balanced and works excellent. They did it right. There is an old Jasper that owns a livestock feed and propane store and will occasionally roll out a sign selling propane half price. Just happened to roll by with 4 empty tanks.

Just a few weeks ago I read a major city daily newspaper for a week while traveling and found the phrases “peaked his curiosity” and “mute point” in front page articles. That is just sad.
One has to wonder what is being taught in journalism classes anymore. Certainly spelling and grammar as not at the top of the list. The competition for readership is fierce with the internet now and only getting moreso with the short attention span of readers so stories are often thrown out willy-nilly without much regard for fact-checking (ever notice how many of the headlines grab your atteention but the story itself is much different?). Our local paper is conencted to USA Today and much of the material comes from that bastion of thoroughness, unbiased reporting and accuracy (NOT).

I mainly read it for stories on local sports (I coach wrestling at the high school) and some of the local news.

    Newspapers are dying.

It's more a sign of the cuts and lack of staff that used to perform those duties. In an effort to stay afloat printed media has had to cut to the bone. I'm from Philadelphia where there were three big news sources and I don't mean like the New York Post. The Times went away in the 70s. The Bulletin, a much awarded newspaper went away in the late 80s. The Inquirer, a paper that annually won Pulitzer prizes for their work, was on par with the New York Times and Washington Post has been struggling to stay afloat for years now.
