    Central vacuum

Finally getting around to trying the central vacuum. Definitely should have brought the dyson.

Just a quick tip for other new owners... if it doesn’t work, pull the basement storage walls out and plug it in... small oversight 1 million and one for assembly crew I guess...

I’ve pulled all the interior panels out of the basement area. Wow what a mess, both in execution and the large amount of trash left behind. With a small amount of thought, storage down there could easily be doubled.

If I could figure out how to post a pic I would.

Also, be sure the filter bag is in the vac properly. Mine was just stuffed in and not installed properly.

The bag in mine was also just stuffed in there.

Can’t say I see a need for this thing anyhow. As far as convienance goes it’s a step in the wrong direction. 20 years ago it would have been nice.

Will likely remove the entire unit after this trip.

During our walk-through at delivery, our dealer made a point to show us the central vac, how it worked and how to install the bags. Ours works well and we find it very convenient. Especially so since we have 2 dogs who usually travel with us. With one being a very fluffy husky mix, keeping the fluff under control is a constant battle.

I have a 200 lb English mastiff and blue tick with me. There is no comparison how quick and easy a cordless vacuum is compared to messing with this. Not to mention in mine at least, you have to crawl up in the hole to change the bag.

For me, I don’t like it.

Our 398 TH is 95% hard floors. A broom and a mop.
No doubt GD listened to customers.
Our last TH was all carpet. Never carpet again.
