Portable electric heater
Thinking about putting a electric heater in the basement this winter, just wondering if anyone else try this and a smoke detector.

I have a Broan Electric portable heater, actually two, one which I put in the forward storage compartment where my lithium batteries live. Since the BMS in these batteries shut down charging when the core temp drops below 32 degrees, the heater keeps them warm in cold weather. It has worked well and no issues, I do not have a smoke detector in the compartment.

In our Momentum; we had one of those oil filled radiator type heaters in the front storage compartment. We also have a small cube heater in the bathroom to help with the heating. Both were set on 750W. The thermostat for the cube never get satisfied which helps with the air flow in the 5'er at the Oregon Coast in the (damp) winter. KEN

We use a small, thermostat-controlled ceramic heater in the basement whenever temps are in the 20s or below. I leave a lot of clear space around it. We've never had a problem with it.
