    Lubrication?

How is the best way to lube our wheel bearings. Seems the chrome cap on our Imagine is only removable by taking tire off. Anybody?

I wasn't able to get the cap off, so this round I rotated the wheel and used the EZ lube port to get the old grease out while pumping new in. Brakes have worked fine since so I didn't blow out any seals.

Best way and easiest way are two different things. Best way would be to do a manual repack of the bearings, easiest is with the ez lube fitting which isnt generally recommended due to the possibility of blowing out the rear seal, not to mention if the lube path is clogged you wont get new grease where it needs to go.

See the LCI/Dexter manual that came with your trailer. Either will describe removing the hub to clean and inspect the bearings and then hand packing the replacement grease. Included will be replacing the rear seal. Using the zerk grease nipple to inject more grease is just asking for problems with grease getting to the brakes through the rear seal and ignores the most important part of this whole process which is inspecting the bearings for any signs of wear or overheating.

The Dexter manual has detailed instructions for using the zerk fitting to lube the bearings. My Dexter axles were apparently lubed, at least in part, through the zerks at the Dexter factory. The process looks a little too procedure intensive for me. It's good to get a look at the whole hub system occasionally so may as well pull the hub, inspect, grease and reassemble with new seals. The manual has detailed instructions for this as well.

Bearing should be adjusted and lubricated every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
Dexter shows the procedure at the end of the YouTube video to adjust it as well when they install the hub and then back off the nut and finger tighten it again.
