Finally... Our "forever camper".
Hi, Everyone We've been camping since very early in our marriage (going on 44 years). I swear there isn't a camper style that we haven't had. We started with tents (when our kids were little), went to a pop-up, then a hard side (not to pull down the road - just to put at our camp). Sold the camp and got a pop-up to pull down the road, went to a truck camper, another hard side (this time with a slide) another pop-up with a slide (we wanted room, but not the weight) and then to a tiny light weight camper to take a 52 day, 11,864.6 mile retirement trip between May and July this year. The tiny KZ didn't have a slide, and when you go from a full time job to retirement, it gives you a whole lot of "togetherness". DH decided a few weeks after returning home that the KZ had to go, but what to get as our "forever camper"?? After searching for several weeks (we NEVER intended to trade this year) we decided that you can't get a proper feel for a camper until you actually step inside it. We visited a couple of dealers within a 150 mile radius, but weren't at all satisfied with what we saw. On a whim we stopped at a dealer in Erie, PA (on our way back from a dealer in Ohio). We thought that maybe a GD Transcend would fit the bill. Boy were we surprised when looking at the Transcend and then looking at the Imagine 17 MKE that we went with the 17 MKE! Let me say - I DID NOT want a Murphy bed, but I fell in LOVE with this camper! The quality is beyond anything I had imagined (pun not intended). This truly is our "forever camper"!

I would be interested to know if the bed is comfortable for you. I've never slept on a Murphy bed before and I'm not sure if it can be swapped out and still close properly.
