Direct wire Furrion Observation Monitor
I installed the Furrion observation camera several months ago and after many trips, I am very happy with it. The only thing I have an issue with is the power cord for the monitor. It needs to be plugged into the cigarette lighter. I have a 2019 F-250 that has upfitter switches for powering other devices (after you pull the proper wires through the firewall). I added a bracket to the dash and I want to run the monitor power cord to a 12v bus that I will install under the dash so I can turn the monitor (not the camera) on and off without messing with the plug. The question is, what is the voltage going to the camera? Some cigarette lighter plugs contain a transformer to lower the voltage to the device and I don't want to over power the monitor. I called Furrion but apparently they don't let the people that know the answer speak with customers. All I got was "you need to plug it into a 12v cigarette light plug".

Um, 12v cigarette lighter plug would indicate that the voltage required for the monitor is...12vdc.
