    New GD owner!

    Hello All,
I just purchased a 17 reflection 308bhts. I had the trailer transported from MN to FL. I am looking at tow vehicles and WD hitches. I will start full timing next month. I had some questions about tongue weight and WD hitches. I think my Tongue weight should be in the neighborhood of 12-15k lbs. I am thinking of purchasing the blue ox WD hitch with 1500# bars... I’m a newbie, does this sound about right?

Tongue weight usually around 10% of trailer weight. When I upgraded to a 312 BHTS I checked the GD website for their stated weights which included about a 1000 lb tongue weight. I suspect my actual tongue weight now is about 1200 to 1400 lbs. I had to upgrade my Equalizer hitch to their 14,000 lb model as my old one was too close to the max weight rating. If you want to know exactly what your tongue weight is you can go to a place that has scales and weight your truck. There is a thread here right now about accurate tongue weight measurement.
