Keys for storage compartments?

I'm a new Solitude 369RL owner. Is it true that the keys for all the storage compartments are generic keys and will open locks on RVs owned by others too?

My Brother-n-Law has a 2010 Cougar 5W and my keys will open his compartments, but his keys will not open ours.

CH 751 has long been the standard key for all storage compartments on most manufacturers. Our solitude now has two keys for the storage compartments. The standard CH 751 is for the battery compartment and the other is another generic key - Southco R001- which can be bought on ebay for half the cost of the dealer. A locksmith friend of mine, can't get the key blanks but he can order the cut keys for $6.99.
