Carbon Monoxide detector mystery
Our carbon Monoxide detector went off a couple of nights last week just after we went to bed. We reset it and it did not go off again. It has never gone off during the daytime and there was no change in our routine on the nights it went off. The really disturbing part of the episodes is that it upsets our dog so much. Any ideas?

The last time I had one that started going off intermittently it was going bad. They say they are good for about 10 years but I would recommend changing them out more often. I change mine about every 5 years just to be safe. I'm sure there will be many more on here giving you some great input.

You might also check the health of your main battery. Mine started alerting and turned out to be my battery had gone south... Good luck!

It's no mystery, this is the end of the life cycle and is time to replace your detector. Resetting it only buys time and will upset the dog again.
Like noted your battery bring low will also set it off, but after 5 yrs the beeping is your signal to replace it .
We also have a 2014 303 and replaced our detector for the same reason. You can find them on Amazon and they aren't hard to replace.
On edit: This is a good time to also replace the LP detector, that will start beeping soon too.
We have replaced all the detectors and replaced the smoke detector in the hall with one that lights up.Last edited by WhittleBurner; 09-24-2019 at 08:49 AM. Reason: added more

Thanks for all the replies, looks like we'll be sourcing a new one. I'm am sure dinner had nothing to do with the beeping, but then I guess we could blame the dog!
