Marcy - thanks for sharing the article......I missed that when released. I was involved in some conversations at the National Rally when a little of this was being tossed around.
I worked with Bill on a number of things from when he came on board with GDRV until he left. He was always quite responsive and good to work with. In fact I have stayed in contact with him a couple of times after he left GDRV. Will need to follow up with him on this.
I wish him and the Heartland folks the best. What they have shared in the article sounds encouraging and addresses some items many of us on the forum have asked for over the years. As Steve said, time will tell.

"Optional disc brakes"? come on. This can't cost more than a couple hundred bucks when you are building them. Plus it would be less inventory to do them all the same.
And made in Elkhart ? The labor pool will all the same people that half azz all the other units made there. Not impressed so far.~Dean

My experience is that the lack of quality is attributable to top management, not the labor pool.

Following their facebook page. Seems that they will be building units that may draw from the EXTREME upper end GD customers, more likely pull from potential LUXE/DRV base.

That is the same feeling I had. Probably not a bad idea especially since Thor bought out DRV. Our neighbor has a DRV and at last years rv show in Tamps he couldn't believe how much Thor has cheapened up the DRV.

Anyone else getting the deja vu vibe? As in isn’t this how GD first started with its principal owners being associated with a larger RV manufacturer with the “gonna build a better mousetrap” mantra.

I wish him the best. We are likely going to stay with our momentum regardless of what anyone puts out since there isn't any money in trading or selling these things.

Looking forward to new interior designs and layouts
Being a former owner of a 2015 350M, i'm very interested in what they come up with. We absolutely loved the 350M, but due to all the crazy laws in CALI, we sold it. We're looking to buy another 5er late next year or early 2021, but as many have said, GD quality seems to have slipped. Also, we'll wait until we relocate to AZ where they are RV friendly:
28-3102. Exceptions to driver license classes; definitions
A. Notwithstanding section 28-3101, a person who operates an authorized emergency vehicle, a farm vehicle or a recreational vehicle may operate the vehicle with a class A, B, C, D or G license.
B. For the purposes of this section:
5. "Recreational vehicle" means a motor vehicle or vehicle combination that is more than twenty-six thousand pounds gross vehicle weight rating and that is designed and exclusively used for private pleasure, including vehicles commonly called motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers, boat trailers and horse trailers used exclusively to transport personal possessions or persons for noncommercial purposes.

A new start up company, Alliance RV
So we’re all in agreement... they’ll build a successful brand then sell it to Winnebago... or Thor.
