A new start up company, Alliance RV

I'm sure many of you have read this already
Bill Martin is now involved in another start up RV company... Based on the same principals as GD , being customer and quality driven.
Will they give GD some customer service competition ? Bill is excellent at what he does so it should prove to be interesting to see what develops.

I met with Bill and had breakfast with him at a little place just a mile or so from their new factory. Its a new facility that just being built and they had just moved dirt when I was there visiting. But they have the slab done and the steel beams for the building (the skeleton) is up now.

Bill is a nice guy, very personable. We talked about everything RV related and RV mfg. related. It was a great visit.

I'm interested to see how this turns out. I wonder if Bill used some of the desires we talked about on this forum to include at the new place. Some of the offerings like Morryde suspension components, disc brakes , and even color coded wiring with schematics sound great. I know when Bill was active on here a lot of these items were expressed as options customers would gladly pay for. We met Bill at one of the RV shows, seemed like a great guy and he always got back to you if you called or sent him an email.

I was so set that this would be my last RV, now I am interested in seeing what comes from this.

I can't say that I know Bill; but it was some one on one correspondence with Bill, including a phone call, as I was going through my decision making process, that led me to buying a GD.

Bill prodded our dealer on a few issues we had when our GD was new, and I met him at a Delaware rally a few years back. I wish him well in his new venture.

I saw one of their new units being built (not much more than running gear, sidewalls, and front cap).

Sat through the potential dealer's meeting and listened to what they had to see.

Time will tell.

Mr. Martin always seemed to listen to his customers. I think that would be the first rule of any business.

Yep, proof will be in the pudding so to speak. I've never been all that taken with Heartland RV's, and the top echelon seem to be all from there. Bill's career is in Marketing. He will bring a huge customer service focus to the organization. And I am sure he can lobby real hard for things he has heard GD and Jayco owners request. But it will be interesting to see how effective (or not) that may be with the rest of the mgmnt structure. GD definitely upped the ante. It will be interesting to see if Alliance can move the needle even more.

A lot of parallels between the startup Alliance and when GD was a startup. GD: principals were from Keystone and left to build a better RV; Alliance RV principals left Heartland to build a better RV. GD started out strong out of the gate and had a fairly good reputation. Received enough recognition and market share to garner interest from a bigger fish in the pond and the principals sold out to Winnebago and in my opinion, that's when things really went south.

It will be interesting to see if Alliance follows in these same footsteps.
