    17MKE with extended diesel Promaster 3500 3.0 4cylinder

My van has a GCWR of 12,500. I've weighed my van with all my possessions in it at a truck-stop: 6,600. The 17MKE has a GVWR of 5,800. Both together come out to 12,400.

However, my van is only rated to tow 5,100. The hitch itself is rated for either 5k or 7,500 with a wdh. Obviously I would have the wdh. And I would try my best to tow without water.

Also, I love mountains. Up and down mountain grades.

I'm happy with my 3500 extended diesel promaster. Great mileage, plus I'm at sea 8 months out of the year so everything I own fits in there just fine, and the plain white of it is professionally incognito. Would like to keep it.

    Thoughts please?

If your answer is "no", what would you recommend? Single guy, looking for something basic and comfortable. That is all.
