    Bed clearance?

I own a 2012 dodge 3500 4x4 diesel duelly, I am waiting on a 337RLS. The salesman told me it will ride level. I am worried, I had to flip axles on my Jayco 31.5. Does anybody have this set up?

Hi Dwight. Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your new 337! I have a 337 also. I just went out a measured my set up so you can compare it to yours.

    Tow Vehicle - 2013 Ford F350
Bed height measured at axle - 56-1/8"

They, I laid a 2x4 across the bed and measured the distance from the 2x4 to the hitch plate - 3-7/8"

So my hitch plate is sitting at 52-1/4 from the ground.

With this set up, my rig is towing quite level. It gives me about 6-1/2 inches of clearance between the top of the bed and the bottom of the FW. I could probably raise the hitch plate height another inch or two with no noticeable change in level.

Welcome to the forum Dwight...we also have a 337 and really love it. Do you know what your truck's bed rail height is? My RWD F250 is 54" at the tailgate and we tow the 337 level with 8+" clearance. I had to drop the pin box to the lowest setting to help get the nose up. Axles on the Reflections are mounted under the springs, not above.

TucsonJim, Is the height you measured with the FW attached? If not, do you know how much your bed height drops when the FW is sitting on the hitch? This won't change the clearance but, I think, it will change the level on the 337 a touch.

No, the height is unhitched. I measured the drop before, but I just can't remember how much. I think it was a about 1.5 inches, but didn't write it down.

It looks like you'll be quite level! The main thing I'd be concerned about is if the front was too high, you'd have a chance to drag something on the rear with a steep driveway, etc. It looks like you won't have anything to be concerned about.

If your worried about something dragging with a steep driveway, etrailer.com has a 'Ultra-Fab Steel Roller for RVs with 2" Trailer Hitches' that clips to the 2" receiver and should help that situation.

I have a 2013 Ram 3500 dually with a B&W Patriot Hitch. My 337RLS rides level with 6" bed clearence. Should be no problem. Pulls and rides very smooth.
