The DOOR sticker on each vehicle is the gospel when it comes to payload capacity.....not something online, in a brochure, or a television advertisement for the truck. And remember, that payload capacity number on the sticker was valid on the day the truck was built. If there has been anything added to the truck AFTER it was built.....spray in bed liner, toolbox, running boards, a hitch, heavier rated tires or wheels.........all of that must be taken off of the available payload number on the sticker. In your case, the 3930 lbs of sticker payload......and lets say you added an across the bed toolbox and had tools, a jack, jumper cables, etc in it and the total weight of the toolbox and "stuff" came to 200 lbs. Your available payload is 200 lbs less than what the sticker says, so 3730.

The 285BHTS is the same floorplan as the 28BH just in a trailer tow (with no outside TV or inside fireplace). They quit making the 286BHTS in 2019, but some dealers still have new 2019 models and they should be a good deal now....low $30s. I have a 285BHTS, tow it with a 2016 Ram 2500 CC 4x4 CTD 68RE Laramie with a 14K Equalizer hitch. Truck tows it well and we love the trailer!
