    Seeing Daylight, Slide Gap?

It seems there’s a lot of slide posts lately so I thought I would throw one on the heap!

First camper, first slide, first question.

Should I see daylight when the slide is retracted? I feel like I shouldn’t. It’s been raining for three days so when I go out tomorrow I’ll have a look inside and I’m gonna put some damprid’s in it. The slight retracts and extends nicely and the seals look good, but when it’s fully retracted(inside) I can see daylight at the top top two corners. Doesn’t seem right. Any other 2500RL owners, or dinette/fridge slide owners see this gap? Click image for larger version.

I was going to post something similar. I have a 2020 260RD that has a gap at the bottom and I was wondering if it is normal too.

That picture with the top corner daylight with slide stowed is not normal, and it shows there's an issue with the installation of the slide seals. Needs t0 be addressed.

The picture with the bottom corner daylight with slide stowed is, unfortunately, common. A little more creativity than the libe workers have is needed to make a flap to seal it.

Flip, as noted above, there is something amiss with one (or more) of your slide seals. The bulb seal runs along the edge of the opening, top to bottom. The top seal is supposed to curl around the lateral edges and overlap the side slide seals. The curled around edges are affixed to the tops of the side seals with some sort of black adhesive (as evidenced by drips seen after replacement). Sorry there’s foam obscuring a clearer view of this, but I can take a picture after the sun comes up if you need a better one.

And although it is a common occurrence, you shouldn’t see daylight at the bottom corner either. There is a seal at the bottom as well. I’m just thinking if you’re armed with evidence of what it should look like, you’ll have an easier time fixing the problems. Our slide also contains dinette/fridge.
