The instructions say not to use the 3rd hole for an aftermarket install and is there if the factory wants to use it and put blocking behind where it will go. I think Stromberg Carlson changed all of their mounts to 3 hole so some newer trailers may come with 3 on the factory mount. I saw in another post where someone did drill for the 3rd hole before reading the instructions and did not hit any blocking. Be sure to silicone the holes before installing the screws. Also put a glob of silicone to about 1/4" out from the hole all the way around the hole. You will see why when you look at the back of the mount. Their is a ring around where the screw comes out the back of the mount and this will seal out any water from getting to the screw & siding. GD used a small strip of Butyl tape when mounting the factory handle but I didn't have any. The silicone will work fine.
Timely post - thanks ! We just installed Glowsteps model A8004 (4-step) on our 2018 Reflection 303RLS last Wednesday, and received the Stromberg-Carlson AM533 assist handle from Amazon on Friday, but it's not installed yet. The only small issue with the Glowsteps installation was that the four class 5 mounting bolts supplied by Torklift were just a tad on the short side - could have been 1/4" to 1/2" longer. Had to temporarily install one bolt on each side without washer and lockwasher in order to "suck in" the approximately 1/4" space on each side between the original 303RLS bracket, install the other two bolts on each side complete with washers and lockwashers, and then go back and re-install the original two bolts c/w the washers and lockwashers. Only added about 10 minutes or so to installation of the steps. New assist handle will go on when I get around to it - LOL !

I didn't have that issue with my 303rls. In fact the Glowsteps were a tight fit. Probably just different tolerances in manufacturing by GD. Glowsteps does make a spacer kit with longer bolts for just such issues but it sounds like you got it handled. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...t/TLA8020.html

What is the minimum and maximum overall rise for these steps? I had a campsite recently where the gap between the bottom step and the ground had to be 18". It was a narrow paved site that was actually low on the door side. Had to block up the tires and the last step extended beyond the asphalt resulting in that massive drop-off. Will the Glowsteps extend far enough to make it all the way to the ground in this sort of situation?

In short , YES - but Check out the Torklift Glowsteps web page - will give you dimensions you will need to know and model numbers. The steps are adjustable for several different situation so can be used with MOST situations.https://www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep-revolution

If I'm reading the specs correctly, it looks like the A8004 (fits my 303) can span a drop between 32.5" - 40".

There are a few drop points at the top and adjustments at the feet as well which makes the steps very adjustable. So far we have not run into a spot that it can't be adjusted at a comfortable position. The 4 step is perfect for the 303. You can call TorkLift with any questions and they will set you up with the right steps. I am pretty sure we have the 8004..
