    320g/328m

    Hi all GD people,

Pulled the trigger and picked up a Ram Laramie 2500HD, step one complete!

In march we decide on a new 320G or 328M, anyone mind sharing what they've paid for either one?

    Thanks much,

    Dave Henry

You can expect to be able to negotiate close to 30% off msrp. Location and freight costs will pay into that number somewhat. I'm curious why you went with a 3/4 ton for either of those. A 1 ton would give you the same unloaded drive, but extra payload. The hitch weight of either of those will most likely put you over your payload number. GD's published hitch weights are lower than actual, they dont include propane bottles, batteries and of course cargo you put in the basement.

I second previous posters comment. I have a 2020 320G and pulling it with a F350 6.7PSD, no toys of any kind. I don't want to rain on your parade here, however your surely over the GCWR and pin weight max on the 2500. I suggest you pull the numbers for the truck and trailer you're looking at. I've used this calculator many times and it helps with the confusion of all these numbers.

I have a 2500 and just picked up a loaded up 320G that I ordered. I would have to look at the paperwork but I believe it came to approx 25 off MSRP.

After towing my old camper with an F250 vs my 2500, I would say my 2500 is closer to your F350. The F250 was pushed all over the road.

I put air bags on my 2500 and converted to a Goosebox for the trip home from the dealer. The ride was fine for the 60 or so miles back. In 2 weeks we will put 2K miles on it and report back how the ole 2500 did.

Your 2500 will put that load just fine but it may not stop it. Air springs don't increase any cargo capacity, they just make an overloaded truck ride level. Generally speaking the 3/4T trucks have wimpy cargo capacity. My last F-250 SD diesel was just over 2000#. Ram will have more but to get to decent capacity you need to step up to the 1T. My 17 Ram. 3500 SRW crew cab LB 4WD diesel is 4707. Don't go by manufacturers charts online, use the door jam sticker for your specific truck. Remember that dealer add on and customer add reduce that capacity 1 for 1.

The Ram 2500 and 3500 have the same exact braking system. There's really no difference between the 2500 and 3500 other than the 3500 has heavier springs for increased cargo capacity from the factory. The 2500 "wimpy cargo capacity" is more of a numbers game for the government. They have to stay under the 10K GVWR for plating purposes. Other than the "rating" and coils vs leafs our two trucks are identical everywhere else.

I actually posted a review back in November of how my truck pulled the 320G and it was just awesome. No issues stopping or handling.
