Norcold - Preventing the Li Op Failure
Heavy rain and wind from the right direction will invariably cause our Norcold 2118 to start flashing the Li Op code. After the second time this happened I was tempted to make or add some kind of water deflector or shield, but didn’t because every time I went to perform the reset, the board and the surrounding area was dry. Something else must be getting wet, but what?
This week I attended a Norcold class for RV techs and asked about why water caused the boards to go i into lockout without a sign of being wet. The Norcold person said the high temperature board works fine when wet, when the board is drying out is when it goes into the failure mode. Simple solution slap a piece of the aluminum tape (not sticky duct tape) that is used to seal ACs and furnaces on and over the opening on the board.Last edited by carnolddsm; 10-05-2019 at 07:38 AM.
