    Troubleshooting and diagnosis....

DW: Honey, I found a screw on the bathroom floor.
    DH: Where?
    DW: On the floor!
    DH: ... ... ... ... Where on the floor?
    DW: Next to the wall.
DH: ... ... ... ... Which wall? By the sink, shower, toilet, or door?
    DW: By the door.
DH: ((Ah, useful information. Communication is improving.)) Thank you!

Cut to hour-long forensic exam of bathroom. Where did the screw come from? Why did they use a machine screw instead of a wood screw? Is there a nut? Where is the nut?

I still don't know where the damned thing came from.

Your model seems to come with steps that stow right inside the entry door, near the bathroom door? I’d check the steps carefully, and if no screws are missing, perhaps conclude that a screw was dropped in the assembly process. From the sounds of it, there’s little time to retrieve such items. In our trailer, when new, we found stray parts everywhere: upholstery tufting buttons, screws, unidentifiable little rubber pieces, etc. Another reason for thinking this is that interior screws tend to have decorative heads, while exterior screws tend to be self tapping machine screws.
    Funny post!

Look up at the knob that opens the vent. The machine bolt that is in the center of the knob likes to fall out.

Houndbb, thanks for the tip. I checked the steps - they all have either rivets or square drive heads. This one's a Philips. Still searching.
@huntr70 for the win! That's it!

Ever see the movie, "Ford vs Ferrari" when Carroll Shelby tosses a random bolt over into the pit area of the Ferrari crew right after their car leaves to reenter the race?...hilarious! Maybe someone did the same just to "screw" with your mind...

Being married is fun, 37 years together you would think we could read each others minds, but naw, doesn't work. But I have learned to stop, take a deep breath, then ask the question using different words, sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't.
