    Fall camping near Moab UT

We’re considering a thanksgiving trip from NW AZ (near Wickenburg) to Denver and the halfway point is close to Moab UT. I’ve always wanted to visit but don’t know the area well. Has anyone stayed there and if so any recommendations? Will just be one or max two nights so we just want a nice spot, preferably with at least a dump.

Last year in November we stayed at OK RV park south side of Moab. Very it inexpensive. In the 20’s each night so the campground faucets froze each night but the restroom was warm and water did not freeze. We used it as a base for Arches and Canyonlands, the crowds were gone and during the day warmed to the 40’s

Sooo many places to stay in Moab. Portal is nice. Spanish Traili is ok. Maybe check http://www.campgroundreviews.com and you can decide what you like and what you want to pay and the amenities important to you. We've stayed at Archview too.

We have stayed at Ok Corral, Spanish Trail, and Archview, the new Kayente Campground in Dead Horse Point State Park, plus boondocked off of Willow Springs road N of Archview. And just so you know, there is a ATV parking area just south of Archview that allows overnight boondocking on the west side of 191.

We have stayed at both RV parks up in Green River. We looked at staying at the Mountain View RV Park in Monticello but had arrived early enough to push on into Green River.

Be sure to check out Passport America. Some of those parks are now on there system. IMHO being in town does not get you much, we had to drive to whatever we wanted to see.

Ok was a little tight for our 41' 5th wheel, the rest were no problem.

For whatever silly reason Moab seems to an X on our travel plans. SE to NW, NW to SE, W to E, E to W. I beginning to think I may be in a rut.

Just stayed last week at Spanish Trails its a nice clean park but right on the road. Lots of road noise. We have also stayed up at the Green River State Park in Green River. Very nice, lots of grass between the large sight.s
