Generator Prep

My 2930RL came with gen prep. I hate the shroud in the front storage compartment. Anybody remove theirs?

I removed our generator shroud to free up space for my solar install and additional batteries. What I found is there are a couple tec screws on the inner side of the shroud that are easily removed but the screws on the outer edge were not accessible so I ended up cutting the shroud loose with a angle grinder fitted with a cutting metal blade, then there is a sealant along the inner side edge and along the top which I separated from the floor and back wall and outer side wall with a scraper. It sounds like a lot of work, but was very doable and did not take much time.

Too bad you can't remove it without damaging it because I bet there may be a market for it. When I installed the generator in my front compartment I couldn't find one for sale anywhere so I made my own. Just a thought.

When I removed my generator shroud, it was mostly intact and likely could have been made to work.
