Just discovered this discussion! We live in Oregon, so we would definitely be interested in a Western Rally at some point. Looks like one won't happen this year. Pretty open on when and where. Would prefer not too far south. Sept or after would be good as all the kids are back in school and would give us time to get back from the Indiana Rally. Even in the Spring is a good time for us if the weather is suitable for travel.

By the way, Tim in Service at Grand Design is trying to keep track of any area rallies that are being organized, so he would appreciate being contacted when something more definite is in place.

Just saw your post. I told Cindy and she immediately smiled and let out a little whimper - she loves Dubois and she loves Longhorn. Some of out greatest memories are there. The very young couple that own/run it are top notch.

If you get a chance go up and fish the trailing waters out of Brooks Lake. (Take some bear spray) We caught our limit every day.

Across the street from the Cowboy Cafe next to the hardware store is also a good little restaurant - can't think of the name. We really liked it there and the jump off point to the Grand Tetons, Jackson and Jackson Hole.

Ask a local for directions to Pelham Lake. Out of town several miles toward Yellowstone, left on a gravel road for several miles, 1/4 mile hike to lake (uphill mostly). Minimum size to keep is 16 inch. We caught some smaller and kept a 18 and a 17 inch. Caught on worms which you can get at the grocery store.
