Our 303 was loaded to almost give and our truck was 925 over the payload of 2300lb although we were not over the 10000 gvw or the axle weights. Just because I had nothing better to do I tried moving weight to the rear of the trailer to lighten the pin. I wasted my time. The trailer has a pin weight of more than 2300lb loaded which is almost the same as the payload and payload is the total of fuel, cargo, people and dirt in the fender wells. You are over gross and the only solution is a bigger truck. That is how our solution started out, need a bigger truck, if we get a bigger truck maybe we could get a bigger 5er, end result solitude 310gk on order and 2020 ram 3500 dually to be ordered as soon as orders can be made. The 2500 will pull the 303 no problem, we have done it for about 40000km through western Canada, Alaska, Yukon, California and places in between with 1 problem it chews up the rear tires.
If you are over your payload, you are by definition over the trucks GVWR. Payload is simply the GVWR-unloaded weight of the truck.

My F350 CCSB diesel with 11,500 lbs of GVWR has 3523 lbs of payload per the door sticker.

Agreed. Our previous truck was a F350 CCSB SRW 4x4 with the 6.7 Powerstroke with GVWR of 11,500# and payload of 3597#

You are correct and in our case, our truck with people, mud, cargo and fuel weighed in at 8600lb and the 5r weighed in at 11575lb hooked up and the truck weighed 10925lb. The difference between the 2 truck weights is the pin weight 2975lb definitely over payload (2380 ). Can't fix it so upgrading to 2020 Ram 3500 Dually Diesel ( 5680 ) and 2020 Solitude 310 GK ( 15000 ) 20% pin ( 3000 ) extra payload, 2680 used to allow for fuel, people, cargo and mud. I hope I have it figured out this time. I will check the weights when everything is delivered and hooked up loaded, but that won't be until May 2020.

Can't go wrong with a dually Congrats on the new truck and trailer!

May want to plan on being closer to 25% of trailer GVWR for pin weight - it goes quick!

Hey Rob, It is a diesel. Sorry I left that important item out! I'm sitting here checking myself so I don't steer anyone wrong. From the Super Duty Specs and Marketing brochure for 2019 models... my F250 10K GVWR SRW 4X4 Crew Cab with the 159.8" bed states 3480. The 2WD has 3890. Actually, from the specs, it doesn't make a difference if it is diesel or gas. The Big Three just keep making changes in payload and hauling capacity, it is hard to keep up. Have a great day! Dennis

The marketing literature does not mean a THING - that is for a truck that NO ONE will order/buy. The door jam sticker is all that matters when it comes to payload for your truck.

Yes, there is something amiss here. I should have gotten these pictures before I sent the reply an hour or so ago. The included pictures are from the brochure previously quoted and from my door sticker. Quite a difference! Why? I don't know yet, but Ford Technical will get a call tomorrow. I have been living by the Payload numbers. The 2019 brochure can be downloaded from the Ford Super Duty site.

    Dennis,

You must look at the yellow sticker on the driver door post to see what the payload is for your truck as delivered from the factory. Each truck is different depending on options installed.

The Marketing brochure states the MAX payload that a F250 can be configured with. That would be a GAS engine Stripped down XL with NO Options at all.

For example, if you had a Diesel engine it reduces the payload by over 800 lbs. If you have a sunroof, power seats, leather interior, 20" tires, power windows, trailer brake controller, aluminum wheels, cruise control, sun roof, spare tire, HD Alternator etc, all those reduce payload. That s why a typical equipped F250 diesel 4WD had a sticker payload of around 2200 lbs, not the max published 3480 lbs .

Ya, that is more in line with what we would expect. When truck shopping, you have to look at the sticker on that actual truck to make sure you don't end up with a disappointing surprise. With my first truck I had a GMC 2500HD Denali Diesel - thought I would have 2530# payload per the GMC specs online. Reality was 2144# which was a big shock.
