Antenna
Anyone replace the antenna on your rig? What did you use? I find that the factory one on my 297 just plain sucks. I would like to do something different to get over the air channels. I see other people in our camping group get much better reception than I seem to, even though there is no obstructions, etc. Thanks

Likely your problem is either bad connections or inaccurate aiming. Bad connections are extremely common. If that’s not it, be very careful about aiming. A 15 degree error can result in 50% signal loss. Winegard has a finder app to accurately aim your antenna. They also make a booster with a signal strength meter to assist with aiming.

Probably should have mentioned that the one on my rig is a dome on the roof
No way I know of to point it. I have checked the connections that are open. I will get more checked as I change some of the cabeling so it works with my sat dish the way I want it to.

I just returned my 2020 for warranty service and one of the issues was TV reception. Quite frankly, the Winegard 360 is a piece of crap. In general, an Omni antenna can't pick up the same as a directional. My main TV gets ok reception, but the other two experience considerable signal loss. The dealer had no way to measure signal, only connectivity, and says everything is fine.
I wonder if I could put another booster inline for each remote tv.

Yeah, I looked at all the connections I could find on mine. All tight. I think the antenna is just a p.o.c.

I had a bad cable between the wall plate and the TV, by process of elimination I figured it out.

I removed my antenna and put on a Winegard Sensor IV antenna. Love it!! Some place on this site I talked a bit about it.
