    Dryer vent for 351M Completed

I came up with a great vent for my washer/dryer combo in my 2019 351M. I did attempt to go down with the vent first and discovered that the few locations possible all had structural and mechanical items under the floor. Simply stated, there was not a location I could drill a 3" hole in the bathroom without hitting something important.

So I decided to go through the bathroom wall, up and over the door and then out the side wall. The issue was to do this and keep the function of the bathroom without an ugly dryer vent on the wall. The solution I found was 4.5" A/C lines cover. The same stuff used for the power and lines for ductless A/C units. I located it in brown and a single order with all parts needed on Amazon. Then I used a standard white outdoor wall vent for the exterior. A little standard dryer venting supplies and some ingenuity to mate all the products together and I have a great vent for my dryer.

The biggest benefit to going up instead of down through the floor is the natural rise of heated air supports the dryer operation and the ventinting is all on the wall that you don't see when walking into the bathroom. Here are a few pictures of the process and finished product.

Looks great! I'm surprised you couldn't go through the floor. My 399 has the washer in the same spot and I was able to go through the floor. If you search "custom dryer vent" and look for the thread I started you can see what I did.

A word of advice, use a camera or bore scope if you have one and look down the drain pipe. It has one of those duck bill type back flow preventers. On mine, it was almost flipped and didnt allow for flow, the first time I ran the washer all the water backed up on the floor. All I had to do to correct it was stick some fish tape down the pipe and it fixed it, no issues since. I have some pictures on that thread I mentioned earlier which show the inside of the pipr.

do you mind sharing the links for the brown a/c line cover? We have been wracking our brains to figure out what to do with the vent. We had a guy that actually worked on our awning not want to mess with going through the floor.

That is a very nice setup, I know that the hardest part is drilling a 4' hole in the side of your unit, I know I did mines but once I got that done it was a piece of cake very nice job.

Very cool set up. I'm interested in an update after a few months of using the unit too. We've considered installing a combo but read comments on issues with machines not fully rinsing detergent and dryer times taking all day for small loads.

We have the Splendid 2100xc washer and dryer from start to finish it will take around 2 hrs but you can select how long you want to dry we just put a light load in and for get it, to us it beat going to some of those shady laundry mat.
