I plan on standing there while filling the tank. As soon as I see any water from the overflow I'll shut it down. I just didn't know if I needed to constantly be back and forth checking level on the display and then back out to the fill location over and over.

I turned a disposable aluminum pie pan upside down and attached it to a scrap of wood to keep it in place directly under the overflow tube. Sounds like a drum when the water starts flowing out of the overflow. You don't have to keep stooping to see if it is starting to come out of the overflow.
