How to tell if fresh water tank is full and what happens if overfilled
Hello all
We are new to Grand Design and the Nautilus P1 system.
We took delivery of our new Reflection 320MKS last Saturday. After reviewing the Grand Design manual that came with the 5ver it states Don't over fill the fresh water tank.
On our previous 2 camper they had a separate fill points for the fresh water tank and the city water connection.
If we were going to use the fresh water tank I would simple fill until the water "spit" back out at me through the fill point. As their was no hard connection and just a fresh water hose with the male end cut off.
Is there a high level drain that I would be able to see water dumping when filled? do I need to run back and forth to the tank level indicator?
I appreciate any help or advise.
Thanks
Mrdegold

Welcome to the forum!
There is an overflow, so you can keep filling until water comes out under the trailer.John & Kathy

We Turn the Nautilus settings to “Powerfill Tank” then turn on the source water hose and when water starts coming out the overflow tube underneath the trailer, you know it’s full.
Then change the Nautilus setting to dry camping so you can use the water pump inside the trailer.
We put a Sharkbite valve on the end of our overflow valve so we can close it after filling the tank. This way we don’t lose half our fresh water from sloshing while driving to our dry camping destination.

You must open the valve when drawing water. There are several solutions posted here. Search water loss while traveling or water tank draining, etc..
This was my solution and you do not need to remember to open a valve, except when filling

Yea, you only close it for traveling.
My solution took 5 seconds.
I crawled underneath and popped this Sharkbite on, no tools or glue. Easy.
Here's a link to the valve I use: https://amzn.to/2PildqlLast edited by DaveMatthewsBand; 10-26-2019 at 06:24 PM.

There is overflow tube coming from freshwater tank; however don't think it is large enough to handle water volume at full force. It worked on our camper when we had defective check valve in water pump that allowed water into tank.

We have an Imagine 2650RK and the overflow on the freshwater tank cannot handle the volume so be ready to shut off the source right away. We had water coming into the camper from under the bedroom closet/nightstand.
