Water leak at hot water valve - 2014 303

Valve at Kantleak panel labeled "hot water" is dripping. The drip is at the interface of the leg from the Kantleak valve. There is a hex nut at that location. I wonder what kind of a seal there is and if tightening the nut is likely to stop the leak.

Tom - I do not recall any valve labeled hot water on our Kantleak panels. Where is this......behind the panel and if so do you have a picture ?

Looking at the Anderson panel, it is the knob to the right of the kantleak valve. On our unit it is labeled "hot water".

Is it leaking where the hose connects to the back, or elsewhere? The hose connection fitting is an O-ring compression fitting which can be tightened. However if to tight they will break. Home Depot carries brass/nylon replacement fittings that will work just in case.

The leak is as described in the first post. All the connections are pex. It is not leaking there. The main valve and the hot water valve to the right of it are siamesed via a nylon connector. It is where this connector attaches to the hot water valve with a nylon nut where the leak is. I am avoiding taking it apart as we are living in our RV while building a house and I'm fully immersed in that project. In the meantime, I am catching the drips with a homemade funnel and tubing routed to a jar. It is leaking less than a pint a day. Appreciate your help.

    Hi Tom&Joan,

From your description, it sounds like this is the leak between the plastic T and the brass water heater bypass valve which was very common on early Reflections with the Kantleak water system. I can certainly appreciate that your time is taken by building a house, but fixing this leak is not as daunting as it initially appears. The only part that needs replacing in the centre T. Get a brass one from Home Depot or similar. The attachment to post 1 in the following link will walk you through the repair process.

    Rob,

Thanks. It did not look like a hardware tee. Daunting? I've leaped over daunting many times in my 79 years. I'm in a short time crunch to beat the weather and other factors. 12 hour days are cathing up to me. It will ease up in a couple of weeks.
