Some folks use this term when the pump will not prime. Basically the system is stalled due to air in the pump and not drawing or sucking water into the system.
Mu solution is I use my short clear hose and funnel (used to winterize) to get the pump primed by holding the hose high several feet above the pump (head high), filling it using the funnel, then operate the pump for a few seconds to start drawing water in (use sanitize or winterize setting). It may take several try's refilling the hose several times and not letting air get to the pump doing this, but the pump will prime. Then switch to dry camping and bobs your uncle. One thing - it is very important to have a faucet open doing this (the air needs somewhere to go) - I use the sprayer hose at the nautilus station so I can see the flow.
Hope this answered your question.
BTW - some folks pull and reverse the screen where the hose attaches to the nautilus panel to get the pump to prime BUT it is critical to put it back to operate the pump for dry camping or connect to city water. Flipping the screen around opens the check valve. Also make sure there is no pressure in the system before you do this.2018 Reflection 150 Series 220RK 5th wheel with 6K axle upgrade. We've been full-timing for 14 months now and had no problem with the Nautilus itself. We have, however, had to replace every fitting behind the Nautilus for leaks. Some design genius decided to mix 1/2" Pex fitting with regular 1/2" hose and even they are both 1/2" supposedly, the Pex is a shade smaller. So eventually all the fittings will leak until replaced.

All you need to do is get pump primed. Once primed it should be good until you run it out of water and get air in the system, then just re-prime the pump.2018 Reflection 150 Series 220RK 5th wheel with 6K axle upgrade. My advice for anything mechanical is "use it or lose it". If you don't regularly operate valves and pumps they will freeze up and eventually fail. It's a good idea to keep some water in your tank and occasionally run the pump while washing the dishes.
