    Mods of the Day

Rather than add today's mods to yesterday's post I though I would keep them separate. What the heck

Today I mounted the front SteadyFast stabilizers which I had removed from my old trailer. I did contact SteadyFast and they sent me new bolts, although I probably could have reused the original ones. It went very quickly. I just need to get all the tiny steel shavings out of my hair. Oh, wait, I have no hair, oh well.

First thing was to locate the proper mounting spots for the SteadyFast brackets. Almost goofed this up! I set it in place with a clamp ready to drill holes only to realize the locking handle would hit the landing gear! Knuckle head. Anyway, once I double checked that it went pretty smoothly.

I didn't mount the rear yet because one of my landing gear doesn't work properly so the dealer is waiting on a replacement from Grand Design to replace it. Once that's done I will do the rear.

Next one was easy breezy. I replaced the shower head with a new Oxygenics. We absolutely love these things. Had one in our last trailer. Ordered this off Amazon. Better pricing than CW or any other RV site I could find. I love Amazon and we are Prime members so most everything comes with no shipping and quickly!

While I was installing the shower head I decided I wasn't going to live with the ridiculous handles on the shower enclosure. They were poorly mounted and felt like they were going to fall off at any moment. What I discovered was they are installed with a set screw that is supposed to go in on one side, through the glass door and then screw into the handle on the other side. Well, mine weren't. The holes on each side of the glass weren't lined up! The set screw merely hit the other side of the handle. That won't work. Took it apart and placed the handle in a vice and tightened slowly until the gap closed up and the holes aligned. Then I tested the set screw and it worked. Getting the handle back on the door was a little testy and I did have to lightly tap them with a ball-peen hammer but it went on. Once I put the set screws back in the tightened nicely

This picture is to demonstrate how the set screw was miss-aligned:

after pressing in the vice the opening is more aligned, really hard to tell in this picture:

Back on the door. Nice and tight and no more jiggling around:

I ended up needing to do both handles.

I don't know about that. I always thought the Level Up systems, especially a 6 point system, were fairly stable. In any case, I'd call the folks at Steadyfast and ask them. They are the nicest people and very helpful. 1-866-498-8754

It adds oxygen/air to the spray to make the water pressure feel higher. It also reduces the amount of water used. We love ours.
