    New GD 3250BH Owner

Picked up our new camper last Tuesday and got it home safely. We are first time owners are will retire in a little under five years. We are empty nesters with eight grandchildren (hence the BH) and hope to learn the ropes. Already killed my battery by not pulling my disconnect.
    Retired Air Force KC-135 crewchief.
    Married
Interest: offshore fishing, hunting, family time one the weekends and looking forward to the rv life.
    Live in NW Florida.
We’ve been on Amazon ordering all the start up equipment.
    Projects so far completed:
50 amp service added at the house. (Need an extension cord) on order
    Bug screens on the vents.
Currently trying to mount a progressive industries EMHW50C surge protector. Really tight area behind the Circuit breaker panel. I’ve watched lot of videos; having a new model has its disadvantages.
Happy to be here and learning daily.

Hi and welcome ! Your grandkids have a great set of grandparents getting a spare room just for them ! Your best bet is to disconnect the battery at the cables to avoid all the little phantom draws that will kill the battery even with the switch turned.

Welcome to the site. Agree - either unhook the battery, or plug in to 110 ( if you have an adapter) until your 50amp cable arrives. There are several things in the trailer that draw power, even with the disconnect pulled, among them are the smoke and CO2 detectors. We bought a BH 5er for the same reason - grandkids (not eight though !!). This year it was only our Granddaughter. She was used to our old TT, which was not a BH . Boy does she love the new one. Her brother will be going next season, so we'll se how that goes. Our last grandson is a couple of years away from going with us - unless his parents come too (which is fine). Enjoy - build memories.
