About to be a new (to me) Reflection 315RLTS owner
Hi Everyone,
My name is Jerry, I'm retired and have just put a deposit on a used 2018 Reflection 315RLTS. Have been a full timer since 2005. Currently in a 2003 Newmar Dutch Star but having lost my wife of 55 years last year, I have decided to reduce my traveling and I wanted to have more room to live in even though it's just me and the dog. Have not yet selected a tow vehicle so I'm sticking with my Honda Odyssey for now. I am currently parked on my lot at a RV resort in Benson, Arizona and that's where the Reflection will end up. The Class A was fun to travel in but for more stationary living you lose a lot of space to the cockpit and engine. I will be putting it up for sale after I move into the Reflection.
I had put together a list of exactly what I was looking for in a Travel Trailer and 315RLTS met every one of them. What finally clinched the deal is that there is the identical model living across the street from me and I spent 3 hours inside with the owners. They love it.
I may be risking a lot, but given Grand Design's reputation for quality and what I saw in the rig across the street, I am buying this trailer having only seen photos. It's about 800 miles to where the dealer is and the photos (salesman sent 72 of them) show a very well taken care of unit. It depends on the shipper's schedule, but I should have it in about 2 weeks.
As far as hobbies, I am a rock and mineral collector but tend to prefer doing lapidary with the rocks and minerals. My late wife was more the mineral collector and I still have her collections. I am an active member of three gem and mineral clubs and am looking forward to the 2020 Tucson Gem and Mineral Shows. Anyone in the forum coming to Tucson for the shows, give me shout and we could meet up at one of the shows.
I am looking forward to learning a lot from this forum. My late wife and I were active members of the Newmar owners group forum for many years. We learned a lot and hopefully contributed information that was useful to other members. In fact it was on that forum that we found the Dutch Star.
Thanks for hearing me out.
Take care.
Jerry

Sorry for your loss. Welcome to our group and hope all goes well with your new rig. Sounds like you’re an old hand at RVing, but the towable will be a little different. Drop a line with any questions and someone will probably have a good answer.

Hi Jerry, welcome to our growing GD family ! sorry for your loss.
Great you got to spend time in the trailer. Being the devils advocate here, it might not hurt to look at a couple other GD floorplans before jumping in with both feet on the first one you see. Not that there is anything wrong with the one you are looking at , it's very simular to our 303 and we love it.Marcy & Gary

Thank you for that.
I have been looking for a destination trailer for quite some time. While the 315RLTS is not quite a destination trailer, it meets all the requirements that I had written down and circulated among most of the local RV dealers. While not quite "jumping in blind" I did jump quickly when I saw it on RV Trader. I have been seeing other GD units as I've been looking but this one met all my requirements AND my price point. While there may be other floor plans that are better, I'd rather not know about them. On top of that, the longer I wait, the lower the value of my Dutch Star.
Again, thanks for the welcome.

Don't worry. You made a good choice. There is no better floor plan than the 315RLTS. Well, I might be a little biased.

Oh, I'm sure I made a good choice. Should have the financials set this coming week. Then have to wait until it gets here. That's up to the transport company. Excited to be moving in.

That does look like a nice plan. Looks very similar to our 310 fifth wheel , except you have more storage cabinets in the bedroom.
